Save the Northfield Depot announces raffle winner

Linda Storlie of Northfield is the proud new owner of a collector’s miniature dollhouse from the winning ticket in the Save the Northfield Depot raffle drawing. The three-story, seven-room miniature house was a long-time project of EdDee Imm, who generously donated the house to the depot project as a fundraiser.

Thursday NHS event to kick off Save the Northfield Depot Fundraising

"Northfield Rails" will be held this Thursday, May 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Northfield Historical Society, 408 Division St., as Save the Northfield Depot's kick off to several summer and fall fundraising events. Chip DeMann will be the keynote speaker sharing some of the lesser known background about Northfielders and others who were key in the development and growth of the railroads in Northfield.

Celebrate National Train Day with Us!

Did you know there was one? Well, there is, and Save the Northfield Depot will be celebrating with an event at the Northfield Historical Society on May 9. Our own Chip DeMann will be the featured speaker, presenting the history of Northfield Rails. Everyone is welcome to attend. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with good wine, fine cheese, and great friends who share a passion for trains and history.  

And to enliven the party even more, there will be an announcement of our "Ride with the James Gang" fund-raising campaign. This is one announcement you don't want to miss!

Location of Transit Hub on Q-Block Fits with Depot Plan

At their December 4 meeting, the City Council approved a resolution recommending to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) that the transit hub be located on the city-owned land on the Q-block. Save the Northfield Depot views the co-location of the transit hub facility with the 1888 depot as a step forward in our vision to accomplish much more than preserving a historic building.

Save the Northfield Depot Receives Grant for Asbestos Clean-up

Save the Northfield Depot was recently notified that the Northfield Area Foundation has awarded a $7,000 grant to assist in the clean-up of asbestos in the depot building.
