Paving Our Way from the Past to the Future

Depot sculpture garden plan

Depot Project

The overall goal of the Save the Northfield Depot project is to rescue, renovate and reuse the 1888 depot as a multi-purpose, public facility for community members and visitors. The attractive depot will contain local artwork, railroad history, and information about Northfield. The depot complex will include a sculpture garden and a pavilion shelter for events such as weddings, art shows and performances and is projected to become a multi-modal transportation center. Proceeds from the paver sales described below will be used to finish the depot renovations, create the sculpture garden, build the pavilion and complete the landscaping.

Engraved Paver Sale

Next summer, we will begin to place the pavers you purchase in the sculpture garden and pathways.  The sculpture garden plan, a pro bono effort of a landscape planner, includes plantings, two sculptures donated by private individuals and a water feature.

  • The red clay pavers with personalized engravings are available in two sizes:
    4” x 8” ($150) and 8” x 8” ($300).  Pavers are wholly tax deductible.
  • A replica (4” x 4” black tile, $25) with the same engraving as your paver is available with a paver purchase only; $15 of the replica cost is tax deductible.
